Mitesh Gandhi

Optometrist and dry eye clinician in Cambridge. I write about the quiet skill of making people feel seen, in practice and in life.

What I do

My years in optometry have taught me two things: the eye surface rewards patience, and people remember how you made them feel long after they forget the test.

Clinical work

I run dry eye and anterior segment care at Clamp Optometrists on St Andrew's Street, Cambridge, as an independent prescriber.

  • Dry eye assessment and treatment
  • Scleral lens fitting
  • Anterior segment diagnostics

Speaking and consultancy

I help practices build dry eye services and talk to teams about patient experience: how the first ten seconds shape the whole appointment.

  • Setting up a dry eye clinic in primary care
  • Talks for optical teams, LOCs and conferences
  • Mentoring optometrists moving into specialist work

Reflection

Meditation, counselling and introspection shape how I practise. I share what I learn, from the consulting room and from my own life.

Being Seen

A weekly series on the art of making people feel valued, for optometry colleagues and anyone who serves others.

Every patient walks in wanting two things: to see clearly, and to be seen.
